One of the factors constraining the accelerated growth of the agriculture sector of the country is poor quality seed and unavailability of seedlings bank. Low levels of awareness among farmers and poor technological applications have also affected efforts to increase the agricultural productivity, improving food security and improving livelihoods in a sustainable manner.

There is the need to concentrate attention on the production of improved seeds and seedlings bank to boost agriculture and ensure food security all year. This can be achieved through collaboration and community seed bank.
