The Youth Support Podium has commenced fabrication of garden tools and equipment to be used in agriculture training, production and capacity building as part of key operational focus. The project, funded by JL properties (under the leadership of the CEO and Director of YSP, Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay) started on the 4th December, 2018 at in Aburi in the Akuapim South Municipal Assembly. The tools, manufactured by the production manager, Mr Kwame Otu Osei were purposely fabricated to engage students in the one student one bed farm projects, promote agricultural innovation and to help fuel the seed and seedlings banking projects under the supervision of the Project Manager, Mr. Freeman Aikins. This in turn would help the YSP to achieve the vision of advocating in the assistance of youth empowerment and skills development in food production and job creation.
In addition to the garden tools produced, the production team also manufactured a local 5 burner cooker that uses palm kernel shells as fuel for cooking.
