YSP STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT WITH DRESSMAKERS ASSOCIATION OF ASMA COMMENCES

As part of the agenda to build the capacities of the Youth in skills development, Entrepreneurship and Job creation for youths through the alternative livelihood programme of the Youth Support Podium(YSP), a stakeholder engagement with the Dress Makers Association in the Abuakwa South Municipal Assembly(ASMA) has commenced. The programme was spearheaded by Mr. Freeman Aikins(Youth Support Podium) and Mr. Peter Terkeetey(Director-in-Charge, Dress Makers Association(ASMA) on 19th March, 2020. The Session, which was geared towards instilling skills development for business development. The meeting took places in 3 main communities within the municipality, specifically Kyebi, Asikam, and Odumasi.

Youth and women present at the community gatherings showed keen interested in learning technical and entrepreneurial skills, would would in turn provide income, shelter and support for family. Moving forward, the training would done for at least 30 women, coupled with business development training to help generate income for participants.We humbly call on philanthropists and development partners who would like to support such initiatives to reach us as we embark on massive development in reducing poverty, zeroing hunger and promoting gender equality as indicated in SD-G’s 1, 2 and 5.
